Fuel Efficient Driving

Let’s first begin with asking a few basic questions

• How much does your organisation pay annually on fuel?
• What would a 10% saving on that figure equate to on your organisations’ bottom-line profitability?
• How much extra business would need to be generated to give this sort of instant profit margin increase?

Before we look at the subject of safe driving, there are still some other issues to look at when fully considering the subject of fuel efficiencies:

• The obvious one is the environmental impact, which in itself needs no further explanation
• Increasing the corporate image by reducing the carbon footprint
• More and more large organisations are requiring carbon footprint statistics within the tendering process and of course documented proof of reducing these figures
• Government initiatives and legislation itself are moving toward rewarding eco-friendly companies, whilst levelling punitive measures against non-compliant organisations
• Greater fuel efficiencies equate to more sympathetic, relaxed and safer driving techniques, which in turn means less wear and tear, less accident damage, therefore less vehicle down-time.  This in turn increases the professionalism of drivers and ultimately the profitability of the company

Now we can start to see the direct benefits of fuel efficient driving techniques being used by a company’s drivers and for any transport operator there is no quicker way of generating such dramatic profit, thus gaining a commercial advantage over competitors.
